Abstract

This research conducted in Koçbank A.Ş. International Division in order to understand The Most Important Dimensions of  Learning Organization  and find out the most important external variables exerting influence on adaptation to change and   what is the primary barriers to become a learning organization. It is critical for competitive advantage to create learning organization in changing environment of banking sector. Because increasing global competition in banking sector urged the banks to cut their operational costs arising from back-office activities.

Therefore a centralization project with new work flow system has been implemented for Koçbank International Division. Redesigning business processes between central operation and branches in order to achieve dramatic improvements in operational costs needs persuasion of employees to change the way they work. In order to persuade employees to change their working manners , the mental model of the employees should be altered.  For this alteration it is inevitable to shift from vertical hierarchy to learning organization.  Essentially  experiences of Koçbank A.Ş. will be helpful for other banks by means of  academic studies conducting like this study.
